Flexibility of Employment as a Driver

Flexibility of employment is yet another advantage of becoming a big truck driver. If for some reason you want to move to another part of the country, in most cases with the same company it wouldn't be a problem (depending on where you want to move).

If it is a problem, 9 times out of 10 you can just find another trucking job as a big truck driver based on where it is you would like to move.

Note: Not to make light of switching jobs. Creating a good employment record, especially with regard to a career in trucking. You don't want to keep switch jobs just because you can. Think about how it would look to you if you were the employer considering hiring a person. Would you feel comfortable hiring someone who switches job 2 or 3 times a year?)

There is also flexibility in taking time off. Most companies are getting smart enough to cater to the drivers needs on off time. If you drive for a certain amount of time at most companies you earn a certain amount of time off.

At other companies like mine, you don't even have to do it like that. I just work until I need a few days off and let them know I want a few days off. So far, Its never been a problem.

There aren't many occupations with as much flexibility of employment as a big truck driver.
