What is the typical fine for a citation for using your cell phone in Minnesota?

I have had my license for 25 years with no citations or points against me. I understand a court appearance is required. I am wondering how this will affect me ... my record ... my employment ... and if I should hire an attorney.

Cellphone laws while operating a CMV NEW
by: Untouchable

OK let me clear things up here so there is NO confusion. The way that the federal law reads about operating a CMV while in a commercial vehicle. If a driver is caught holding a cellphone in his hands or is caught trying to dial a number while operating a CMV, the fine is $3,000 to the driver and $11,000 to the company. When you get this kind of ticket, 100% of the companies will terminate you automatically. This will go on your DAC and your driving career is over for the next 5yrs until the ticket falls off. Good luck

I Heard 14K To The Company. And The 2700 To The Driver Sounds Correct.

Expensive Phone Call.

I Still See Drivers Doing It, I Just Shake My Head.

Good luck
