I'm trading a truck in, do I need to place an out of service sign on it ?

You want to peel your trucking name and MCC DOT number off of it before leaving it.

I don't know about an out of service sign to transport it. I would call the department CMV enforcement division to ask if I were you.

Also the dealership that you are trading it in to should be familiar with the process.
