Stop engine fault

Hi, my name is amanda. My husband just got this volvo and it keeps saying stop engine fault. It just started last night. Then it goes to check engine fault we're confused can you please help us?

Hi Amanda. Did you guys ever figure out what the problem was? Im having the same problem. Diagnosed as EGR Valve problem and sensors and valve have been replaced but light keeps popping back on. Thanks in advance.

Volvo is notorious for electrical issues. I couldn't wait till mine was done with. When that happened to me it was several thousands of dollars in un needed repairs to figure it out.

Turned out it was computer. Get rid of that Volvo before you go broke.

I drove a Volvo for a few years and my opinion is that it should go into the shop to have the error code read.
