I'd like to get on at Fed Ex, but I need a local run or P&D. The Pittsburgh area.

1,000 dollars a week. Weekends off. No backing required. You need doubles and triples endorsement.

www.trainwithptl.com. I'm going with ptl because they are out of Murray kentucky and I live in North Carolina. I been out for awhile and I done got approved to get set up with orientation. Met a lot of ptl drivers..never heard a bad thing about them. Heard a lot of bad things about Stevens transport though. Rather be with a company close to home than farther way.

If you don't have any moving violations in the last 3 years I can get you on with Fed Ex. They give me 800 for the referral.

Just a personal testimonial NEW
by: Addie

Not sure what you mean by "bad", as that can be a broad spectrum :) My husband had a suspended license for a while (nothing serious, just unpaid tickets, but quite a few). He had to wait 12 mos after reinstatement, but Stevens Transport took him on immediately following the 12 mos. He also had a criminal record from 20+ years ago, which they were not concerned about since it was so old, was not violent crimes and he provided full disclosure on. I can't speak for any other companies, but Stevens seems to be very geared towards new drivers.
I will warn you though, they are not for the faint at heart. You will likely hear/read a lot of negative reviews, but in reality they are a good company to start with and grow with if you're patient, a hard worker, and resilient. Hubby went through their company-sponsored CDL school in January, did orientation in February and then went with his trainer from mid-Feb to April. Was solo from Apr to beginning of June and is already a lease-operator now. So, again, if you have there wear withal, a new driver CAN succeed with them. Just my 2 cents :)
Good Luck!!
