I thought my husband was lazy when he got off the road

My husband cooked cleaned and always ready to go to a good restaurant to eat until he started trucking. Now he only wants to sleep and stay home.

Went with him on a short trip and was exhausted for month. I was sick of restaurant food and gained 20 lbs. The life of a trucker is hard. We laugh about me thinking it was a pie job.

Truckers wive's appreciate your truck driver husband. You're fighting repairs, paying bills and all the other things that go hand and hand with keeping up the house.

He is fighting traffic and praying not to accidentally kill some innocent person. He sees more than his share of tragedies in a week on the road.

I love my trucker husband and respect him more each day.

It's a really sweet and lovely blog by a trucker's wife. No doubt the life of the trucker is really hard and very hectic and never easy. It's good to read it. Important point of view you shared on lifestyle

Thanks a lot for posting on behalf of the drivers with a wife at home frustrated.

It is impossible for a wife to really get it unless she takes a few trips. A few weeks out would be best to really get it and even then she has to remember she is only riding and not behind the wheel. Your post which features to your 'before and after opinions' after time on the road will help a wife get the drivers part of the lifestyle.

That said, it is not an excuse for the drivers go off duty from the relationship, lol. As a driver, you need to keep in mind that she can't know what you go through. More importantly though, you must remember that you don't see first hand what she is experiencing either. Same situation for the wife.

SO......that means you have to put in some extra effort to continue to play an active role in the relationship. As it goes in healthy relationships, if you put in effort to be the type of person you would want to see in your spouse, then you will be greatly rewarded by your spouse in love, respect, appreciation and admiration.

Ideally both partners would be proactive in nurturing the relationship despite each person's challenging journey and it will keep the relationships strong.

If both people instead wait for the other one to 'treat him/her better' first, then the relationship begins to fall apart.

Didn't mean to go on for that long, I've talked about this before on the relationship page. But again, thanks a lot for posting. I just see so much sadness with couples having a limited perspective on the lifestyle.

For those who are unhappy about the relationship it could help you to study material related to improving relationships. You will get new ideas and insight just like you experienced from reading the unamed posted.
