I have a Texas CDL and want to know how to keep points off after receiving a speeding ticket in my wifes car?

I don't have anything against my CDL but I received a 13 mph over ticket this weekend while I was driving my wife's car.

If I ask for a defferal will this keep points from being added to my license?

me too, but got it in natchitoches parish
by: saltwaterboy

I just got a 13mph over in my personal car in natchitoches parish, la. They attached a form to the ticket saying that i have "been selected to participate in the district attorneys traffic diversion program".

The form doesn't make any mention of excluding cdl license holders. They want $271.00 to "participate" and it will not appear on my dmv or driving record.

I think that either they don't know or don't care about the anti-masking clause for cdl drivers or they simply forgot to exclude cdl drivers on the participation form.

What do you think my chances are that if i sent them the money order, that it wouldn't appear on my record?

CDL holders and deferments
by: Hervy

It's my understanding that a CDL holder isn't eligible for deferment.
