I Found a Great Diesel Mechanic in Brandon Ms

I was traveling from Ft. Worth through Mississippi on Memorial day 2023. I got through Brandon Ms and I smelled antifreeze.

I knew what it was because the mechanic was supposed to change a hose in Texas but instead, cut the end of the hose I already had off and reused it. Then gave me my hose back!

I pulled off on the ramp and turned right thinking/hoping the service station might have truck parking since the sign on the ramp said it had diesel.

It ended up being a regular gas station. But that didn't matter because I didn't make it that far anyway.

I called the Loves Truck Stop in Jackson. They had a 4 to 5 hour wait before they could send someone. (Maybe send someone) But she was so cool she gave me a local mechanic's number. His name was Devin.

Devin was out deer hunting since he had given his crew the day off. But he was so cool he gave me a mechanic's number. His name was Chad.

Chad was chilling with his family poolside doing what many normal people do on Memorial day. He hadn't planned on working. I told him I understood if he couldn't make it. But after chatting a few minutes he decided to see if his neighbor could give him a ride to check out the situation.

I had the water line and it should be a fairly quick job. When I called the T/A in Denton to see if I could get some recourse for them being lazy and not replacing my line like I asked. They claim the hose I had was the wrong size.

So I walked to Home Depot to see if I could get a size larger. Then didn't have it. I called Chad and he said he had some hoses on the truck.

As it turned out....the water hose I had was a perfect fit! And in an hour give or take a few minutes I was back on the road!

It costed me $497.55 but seeing how it was a holiday and Chad left his family outing to come help me out. I'd say it was a fair price.

At the time he didn't want to shoot video. So I only have a photo of his arm connecting my water hose. But he said next time I come through he'll be ready to say hello to yall!
