I am a new girlfriend, how can I be the best support for my trucker, and Im feeling a little lonely and left out - holidays are coming and he may or may not be here :)

Im a new girlfriend of a trucker, we have been dating for 4 months, Im crazy about him, fully support him and his career.

I get a little lonely sometimes. I have a party for Halloween that I was really looking forward to going to and introducing him to my friends, looks like he can't go - just got sent to Nebraska. Im disappointed but understand that this is his job.

Help I want help before it builds up and we lose each other.

Dealing with holidays

Hello, I completely understand your frustration, I have been a trucker's wife for 2 years and the holidays are the hardest of the whole year. I have found that my friends and family have been my best support group.

I know its hard to attend a party when you had high hopes if introducing him. He couldn't make it this time, so if he is up to it and your family and friends at least some if them are good for short notice gatherings have I the second day he is home and introduce him.

It's hard but the rewards can be just as good as a normal relationship. With that being said, we as individuals make our normal.

So many jobs require men and women to be away from home.
