How to legally transport a trailer from auction

What are the legal requirements for transporting a flatbed or dry van that was purchased at auction, out of state?


Does it need to be registered or are temporary tags needed? Can I just transport it without a tag since there will be no load and is going from point of sale to storage facility?

Any vehicle using a public road needs to registered. However, most states are not uniform in their requirements.

Check with the auction people first, then state DMV in the states you will be traveling in. Me personally, I would just play dumb and run with it.

The worst is you would have to buy a permit at the POE. Jimmy
