How Much Do Truck Drivers Make in A Week

This is a broad question and hard to answer. But I will give it a shot, since its asked so often.

The amount of money a truck driver makes in each week will vary from week to week. Unless he's doing a dedicated route.

Meaning he drivers to the same locations each week.

Because other truckers might drive 3,000 miles one week then drive 2,000 miles the next week.

So you see the issue with trying to answer how much a truck driver makes in a week.

It's more accurate to find out how much a truck driver might AVERAGE per week, based on the average pay per month.

But even that could be misleading even at the same company.

One person could work 3 weeks straight before going home.
Another person could want to go home every other weekend.

1 driver might want to be home for 1 day.
Another driver might want to be home (or off) for 3 days.

If you can grasp these realities you'll understand that you can ask 2 truckers who drive for the same company how much they make per week and you can see how each might give you a different number.

So whenever you ask a trucker how much he/she makes per month also find out how often he/she goes home or takes off to reset their clock for hours of service.

That said a new truck driver could make from $500 to $1200 per week.

You might say, "Wow, that's a huge spread!"

If that's what you're saying, you're correct. It is. That's why first I did all that explaining lol.
