Ecstatic New Truckers Wife

by Lillian
(Topeka,Ks. USA)

Hey ladies, I am marrying my favorite Trucker next week. I am so in love with him, with his truck, with our home and with our life.

I have already been living this "life" for a minute and I find peace in keeping busy with a very part time job, going to the gym, spending time with friends.

I am going to even share this experience with a friend whose husband is about to be deployed. Shes a great person and we are going to support each other.

I don't have any kids here with me so its just me and our house and our dogs. I would like to join here so that i have somewhere to come for encouragement bc i know that this is not always going to be easy and I have already had to experience the fact that sometimes when they call and say "baby im gonna be home on this day" and then have to call back and say that "plans have changed dont expect me until Friday" and I just keep moving and keep the house together for him to come "home"

My house is my priority but finding a balance to keep busy as well.

I am looking forward to hearing your stories and connecting.

Give it time NEW
by: Anonymous

Right now you are looking at him through rose colored glasses! My children and I have grown apart from him and we lost love for him! We were never on the truck with him because we were not allowed and he became chummy with a few undesirable male truckers out there that have him turned against his family. We were supportive and loving to him before those others came into his life and when he changed, we, too, have changed against him, so right now in your eyes he can do no wrong and you are over the moon with him, well good luck but my husband lost his family and it is all his fault!!

You can drive together. Life is good when you are together in a truck.

Congratulations on the New Marriage
by: Hervy

Hope you all have a lifetime enjoying each other and the adventure to come.

It seems you are currently content and smart about how you manage the trucking lifestyle.

I also would like to suggest that you talk about what you want it all to look like 10 years or 5 years from now.

If you plan to continue down this pathway that's cool.

What I don't want to happen is 5/10 years from now, you/him/or yall starting to feel like you're trapped in this lifestyle with a desire to escape the lifestyle.

This is a situation that couples and individuals find themselves in too often and it's often due to not thinking about and planning for the future in that way. (Financially/lifestyle)

So just some thoughts.

At least think about starting a side business or saving to start one in the near future. Or perhaps buy rental properties in order to retire with income or to shift from trucking if desired.
