Does a Dot officer have to give a driver the opportunity to slide tanders first to get axle weightb4 issuing citation for being overweight

I wasn't given the opportunity to slide tandems first to get to legal weight.

Actually if they allow you to, they are being really nice.

Should be legal before you hit those weigh stations.
