Dedication and a strong will...

by Stephanie Wells
(Olympia, Washington)

My husband has been driving truck for 20 years. We've been married for 10 of those years and although it was rough in the beginning, we seemed to have found our niche.

Don't get me wrong, we still have our moments, but they are few and far in between. My husband gets home maybe every 2 months and when we are together, we treasure every moment we have. The statement " distance makes the heart grow fonder" couldn't be more true in our case.

I attribute our success to open communication, trust and unconditional love. I wish all the other wives the best of luck, it isn't easy, but your family is worth it.

Making it work
by: Hervy

Thanks so much for sharing Stephanie. I am sure it will give so much hope to other couples. Especially those new to the lifestyle.

Wishing you many more years of happiness!

For many couple reading this though, realize it may take just as much work on you as individuals as it does on the relationship.

You need a certain mindset and mentality to be the best person you can be in the relationship. I am sure Stephanie and her husband has either worked on this or developed from an early age in such a way that they are confident, have good self esteem, each know their self worth and has good communication skills as well as a wonderful perspective on life.

With those qualities making a relationship work in challenging situations are possible. If you think those qualities don't matter, then you will also likely find keeping the relationship strong a difficult feat.
