Charged with DUI when I was 17

I got a du wen I was 17 and I want to get my class A CDL. I turned 18 a few months ago and wondering if my DUI will effect me getting my CDL

Angus a DUI will definitely effect your ability to get a trucking job. It will not keep you from getting a CDL.

You can't go over the road until you are 21 anyway though.

Once your DUI is 5 years old you might find a trucking company that will hire you. However, you are talking 4 years from now. Who knows how things will change by then.

In other words, don't give up on your dreams but prepare yourself for other things in the mean time. Any good trucking company is going to want to know what you have been doing with your time prior to applying to them anyway.

Knowing what is on your record, anything that you can do that shows maturity, discipline or responsibility will help you later.
