Can truck be reported stolen if not returned to where instructed

Is truck driver legally obligated to return truck back where he picked it up if he quits in another state.

If you tell them you quit and get off the truck all the can do is get you for abandoning the equipment. Depending on the circumstances, that could hurt you with other perspective employers.
