Becoming an O/O

by Ken
(RI/MA)

I am a 33 year old military veteran that has been looking at getting a CDL A soon.

My father passed away unexpectedly and left me and two sisters a considerable amount of money. I was looking at getting into the industry and buying a truck outright, and all the trucking GPS, cameras, road logs etc...

I know this is a huge risk for someone new to the industry but buying the truck outright is that a good idea?

Dont buy a truck until you have experience

Don't buy a truck until you have some experience driving because insurance will be extremely high

Contact www.OOIDA.com and ask about insurance for a new cdl driver with his own truck.

You're going to be shocked!
Also ask if trucking companies will lease on a new owner-operator with no experience and if brokers will give loads to new owner-operators with no experience.
