Are most truckers required to have annual (or maybe every few years) physicals including blood tests?

Great website! You have helped me realize that trucking is something I really want to do, and I've also gotten countless advice about life in general from your website. You truly seem to have a great attitude about life.

I don't have a problem with needles or anything, but I faint every time I have to give blood, and I was wondering if truckers typically have to get medical exams periodically that involve blood tests?

For medical card, it depends on expiration date.

Some trucking companies might also desire or offer incentive to get annual physicals in addition.

Needles
by: Hervy

No needles for truckers, you pee in a cup for the drug tests at most companies.

Thanks for the feedback.

No blood tests.

It's just a basic physical, no needles. It's every two yrs, unless you have an issue and it might be every one yr....Jimmy

D.O.T. Medical card
by: Jeff

A C.D.L. Holder must renew their medical card evey two years, unless your doctor says there is reason to do it more often.
