Single dad wants to take 7 year old son otr

by William
(Lake Butler,Fl)

I'm a single dad and have raised my 7 year old son alone for 5 years and would like to go back over the road due to financial situations and home school him which wouldn't be a problem since he's 2 grades above other kids his age.

I really need to do this if not for only a year to get things back on track in our lives and I have no one to raise him while I'm otr.. Does anyone know of any lease purchase companies I could take him with me, also I want him to see the lower 48 states too.

I know some will have something negative to say but my son is all for it and he'll be 8 soon, it's always been just the 2 of us and we can spend more time together seeing different states together ...

We really need to do this to get out of this hole we're in.. Please give good constructive advice, I'm no rookie to the industry and have been around it my whole life..

Not all companies will let you take a child on the truck under the age of 12 see if you can find a company has Loco runs so you can be home with your son you are a blessing to your son keep being the grate dad that you are

Get a producer to film this. It's ratings gold for them and you'll probably get some money for doing it. Plus you and your boy will have video documentation of your travels. Cool "down the road "

sounds like a good thing for you and your son. there was a lady who wrote a book about her life on the road with her father who had to take her with him since she was in an infant seat! this was a long time ago when some could get away with more than they can now a days. just make sure that you are allowed to do this legally with a child. since you said it would only be for a year i think you should be fine. see if you can purchase your own insurance and maybe a company will go for it. good luck and may you and your son have loads of fun and adventures!!
