sales tax question....

Keep getting different answers from whomever I ask. If I haul a load of stone to a customer, do I charge state sales tax on the hauling price or just the materials?

Just the materials

You dont charge sales taxes on hauling. You just charge sales tax on retail sales. Unless it is a wholesale transaction.

Hauling should be a seperate charge item as shipping and handling. You could see what another company would charge you for hauling it if you dont have a good price in mind.

Or hauling it could be an entirely different business that you own.

You charge your business that produces the finish product for hauling. Two seperate entities.
