I retired from the Post Office after driving a semi for them 31 years. Mostly local, but involved a lot of very tight backing into narrow docks, etc. i received a 1M mile award (although they never gave me the paperwork) and a 30 year safe driving award.
I have never received even so much of a traffic ticket. No accidents or tickets for over 36 years of commercial driving. (Before that I drove in the Marines '72-74.) After I retired I took about a year off work.
I got bored and went to work for 3 different companies. They were generally very unorganized, drove dirty, unsafe equipment - trailer doors being tied up with rope, mechanical problems, etc.
It has always been a dream that after my wife and I retire, we wanted to drive over the road. However, with children and grandchildren, this isn't something that we want to do on a full-time basis. But part-time would be excellent.
We are 56 and 57 (she doesn't drive) and we take care of our equipment, we don't smoke, and don't have bad habits. We have driven/ridden together and really, really enjoy it. We would welcome the opportunity to go over the road and not be tied to the long schedule with little to no home time that normally accompanies over the road driving.
I know how to drive a truck in all aspects. I will take care of your equipment and all deliveries will be done in a timely, professional manner. My wife is an excellent record keeper and co-pilot for directions, navigation, and phone calls, if necessary. She is a retired professional business person.
Thank you,
