Recent grad from Miami Florida

I just got my cdl license, i have a felony but it was 8+years ago, now i want to start over and do something new since i just moved back to Miami from GA were i worked as a construction worker in my uncles company.

I recently work for a trucking company as a box truck driver but i would like to be an actual trucker. I am willing go on the road and learn and get as much experience necessary but unfortunately no one will hire me because i have a record.

What i don't understand is if TSA gives me clearance and a STA number why can i get a job?
