One Reckless driving ticket is stopping me!!

by Anthony C. Gatlin
(Hopewell, Va USA)

40yrs old male, just retired from the US Army. I revived a reckless driving ticket in 2010 Virginia for driving 80mph in a 70mph zone. The ticket had a fine on it, so I just paid it.

During this time my unit was preparing to deploy to Iraq. I paid the fine to avoid my unit from finding out about the ticket. As a NCO this would have looked bad on me. After returning from Iraq, is when i was informed that it was a reckless driving on my MVR.

This one action is stopping me from starting my new career. Please help me !!!

You should be able to hire a lawyer, and get it reopened and get it reduced to a non moving violation. Unless there is more to the story than you are telling. It is called motion for aproiate release.
