Newly graduated with CDL class A needs chance to make honest living

by Kelly Rogers
(Canton,N.C.)

I was released 04/28/2010 after serving 35 months in N.C.DOC for (F) Trafficking Marijuana(By Possession).

When I came home there were not many construction jobs around.
I found a few odd jobs and kept checking the paper, but the only thing that seemed consistent were for CDL drivers.

After some thought I voluntarily enrolled in the Intensive Out-Patient Program with Meridian Behavioral Health Services in Waynesville,N.C.

The program revolves around complete abstinance off all drugs and alcohol for 1 year.
I wanted to show potential employers that I was serious about changing my life, and that my charges stemmed from money problems and not drug abuse.

While attending the program with Meridian I started a job for Mr. Richard Whiteside in Asheville,N.C.

I graduated Phase 1 at Meridian on 11/12/2010. I finished the job for Mr. Whiteside on 11/19/2010, and started my CDL classes on 11/22/2010.

I decided to take my tractor-trailer training with Sage Corporation at Isothermal Comm.Coll. in Spindale,N.C.
The training consists of over 160 hours of instruction, and all time spent behind the wheel and on the road is strictly a one-on-one basis.

I drove Freightliner and Volvo trucks through the Saluda Gorge on I-26, and across Black Mountain.
Black Mountain is ranked in the top 10 steepest grades on U.S. interstate highways.
We pulled 53 ft. dry vans with 20,000 lbs.
I graduated on 12/23/2010 with a 97 GPA.

I am seeking employment with any company that has either a driver finishing program, or a training program for recent grads.
I have not had a ticket in 12 years, and I have never had an accident.

I am particularly interested in a team driving position, and I would like to be out for 3 weeks at a time.

If anyone is looking for a driving partner I hope you will give me a call at (828)777-6248.

I am willing to work for less to gain the experience.

Thank you,

Kelly Rogers
