Need other options for making money trucking

by Dee
(Florida)

I have had my own authority for about 3yrs now.. I do not have my CDL but I have trucks running under my authority and my company name.

I know most of the ins and outs of the paperwork side for trucking( which changes frequently ) but I wanted to know if it is really hard to get a CDL and have the option to drive myself if I wanted to?

Looking for pure honest insight!

by: Anonymous

Hi I just have a question. Im new at this and I bought a truck cash. In getting it lease to a small company and have someone else drive it.

The company owner is asking me to give him the tittle and Bill of sale so he can go get the tags. Should I trust him and give him my truck title?

Owning & driving ur own trucksoftware ur own business! !!
by: Clifton E Head Jr./ AKA (little bull)-Ita (endipent truckers Association mbr mbr..

I Gru up in trucking, my father pulled a tanker, & all my uncle's haller cattle. My father tough me how & to drive a truck at 13, at at 18 had my lisence called chauffeur's license& no one would hire me.

At 19 I ought my own truck, finally just before 21 put it on the road long distance hauling cattle.

For 35 years now I have been a ITA,I have lost & restarted 5 times in life, have my own authority, I'm 56 yrs oldI have one old 82 model truck , set of sticks & at the bottom again.

My son now 27 owns his own truck now, believe no shop bills, do all our permitting money chasing, between the federal government&all the Crooks and cons out there u just can not run down the road drivin & be in the office chasing &saving money. U are all ready a head of the game took me 13 yrs to ever completely be a businessman w/ (LLC)operating athaurity acknowledge nationwide.

I had 7 trucks&trailers brokered other ITA'S, 21 loads from fla. To wheeler tx. DID NOT GET (PAID) ON. It's is still a plus & enjoyable to have ur CDLS as they call it now. But best advice to u, maybe at the most.

Stay w/managing ur business ur self by the trailers not the trucks try to become the onliest one out there honest w/ integrety & loyalty, the rest of us will highly respect u wish u luck &I hope that helped u .

COMING BACK UP MYSELF AGAIN HOPE TO MEET U OUT THERE SOME DAY. MAKE A DOLLAR OR IN TERMS ROLL A DOLLAR FROM ONE HAND TO ANOTHER BUT DON'T EVER GIVE UP FEED THE PEOPLE UR TRUCKING BUDDY AKA (LITTLE BULL) ONE LAST THOUGHT AS MUCH AS THE DAY IS LONG THE SAME IS THE NIGHT U HAVE TO BE AWARE CALCULATING& PROTECTING UR BIS.& NAME OUT THERE. SEE U OUT THERE.

Honest advice
by: Leo

No it's not hard to get your Class A CDL its easy I got mine in a week and 6 days. They just tsught the basics "what you need to know to pass CDL driving test". You also will have to get your permit find find out which sections u need to study for test and probably you will have to take drug test too.

Go to a private trucking school this will save you from contracting on with a company that offers to pay for your schooling. Of course you will have to pay for your schooling if you went to a private trucking school examples road masters do not go to them though they are high in price that was just a example. Honestly u should be able to get yours for free go down to your local unemployment office they wI'll pay for you to get ur CDL or any other certificate such as welding check into that hope this was helpful

DEE WITH NO CDL
by: Alec

DEE there are many ways to get your CDL. I'm an owner Oper. and have only be years driving experience. I own 2 trucks. You could try studying on your own and could probably take the permit tests and succeed if you dedicated 3 or 4 hours a day to studying the book for a week. Best thing to do would be to head to a driving school. Most schools will have a license in your hand in 1 to 2 weeks. But many will cost you.

Some states have programs with the Dpt of Labor that will pay student tuition. A friend went this route. After obtaining your license I would follow the previous persons advise and ride along with a driver for about a month before venturing out on my own.

tHERE IS NOTHING IMPOSSIBLE IF YOU REALLY WANT IT
by: salas

getting your cdl is not hard, just study your book and pass the written test. once you get your drivers permit you'll be all set. your advanage is that you have your drivers that you can tag along and have them teach you how to drive so that you can pass the driving test. once you get your cdl stay on the road for awhile to get some experience so that you can better understand your drivers.and remember, where theres a will, theres a way.
