I am a 45 year old former combat veteran of the US Marine Corps. When I was honorably discharged from the Marine Corps in'91 I went to work for a water supply corporation.
I received my class A CDL in '92 to drive a 2 1/2 ton truck pulling a 30' trailer and backhoe. I drove that for 7 years then was promoted to foreman.
The last 12 years I worked for the company I was the general manager. I spent 21 years with the company and resigned on good terms. I just could not stare at those four walls in my office another day.
I have some money put back and knew it was now or never. I have always wanted to drive and see life on the road. I have been to more countries in the Marines than I have states here at home.
I do have my tanker and hazmat endorsements on my license. I am a hard working Texas farm boy. I was driving hay trucks and milking cows before school starting at about 12. My word is my bond. The two things I have always prided myself on is my word and my reputation.
I am enrolled in a truck driving school at a community college starting 9/16/13 so I can have the certificate. I would really like to get into oil field type driving salt water, crude oil or heavy haul, but am open to anything.
I would be more than happy to train with no pay, for the experience and opportunity to prove myself.
Thank you for your time.
