Although I no longer drive an 18-wheeler, I did for 15 years. My book, Silly Woman, Big Rigs Are For Men is a collection of my experiences and the learning curve I went through moving from a school bus driver to the cab of an 18-wheeler.
I've written a screen play based on my book. My heart's still out on the road. My journey was quite a bit different than what many women face today.
I qualified for my CDL in 1990 and would have expected it to be less unusual in 2012. It's not.
