I'm a proud trucker's wife. I have been a stay at home mom for 8 years. My husband is a OTR truck driver. We have 3 kids. 2 boys ages 16 and 11 and 1 girl who is 6.

My hubby is not home much so most of the time its just me and the kids and dogs. I enjoy reading, movies, music, crafts and lots more depending on my mood.

I would love to connect with other wives. I don't get out much or have a lot of friends..

I look forward to meeting other people.

It's always good to see trucker's wives trying to be strong and content holding down the fort.

I can imagine the challenge being greater than I can imagine. lol

Ok, corny, i know.

Anyway, I just wanted to say, with all of the free time, consider placing some focus on how to enable your husbands to transition out of trucking. I mean if that is what you all would love to see happen.

I know a lot of wives and truckers themselves would like to see change.

However, they never serious set a goal of either starting a business or learning another trade to actually be able to transition out of the OTR driver's seat.

And by the way, your husbands could also be doing something constructive with free time, correspondence courses, Online classes, etc

I know how you feel we don't have kids so i'm home alone alot. I go to college full time at the age of 40, but i get so board in the evenings with nothing to do. I dont get out with my friends cause they are single and like to go to the bars and thats not for a married person like myself. I saw that you are from Tn. are you near NC? Thats where i live. I am so glad i found this site. It's nice to know that im not alone and others feel the same way i do.

I understand what you're saying i really don't have many friends either, I stay home and watch my grandson for my daughter. My hubby is gone alot to and it gets hard sometimes but i love him and want to be here for him. Best of luck to you.
