You will need a good truck a good accountant and good contacts and if you lease with a company don't always pull heavy loads sometimes they will stick you with that.
Also if you become an owner operator you need to make sure you don't have a lot of bills at home I know everybody situation is different but if for instance your truck breaks down and its cost 1200.00 dollars to fix and every O/O know that it doesn't take long to run a bill like that up you need to have the money to fix it.
REMEMBER YOUR THE OWNER OPERATOR ITS YOUR TRUCK YOUR RESPONSIBILITY IVE BEEN AN O/O FOR 3 YEARS NOW AND I'VE LEARNED A LOT MADE SOME MISTAKES ALONG THE WAY TO BUT THE IMPORTANT THING IS WHEN YOU MAKE THEM LEARN FROM THEM
