My husband and I met 3 years ago, married for 2 years. I love him very much and miss him terribly when he is gone working.

Our biggest fights lately is he wants me to go with him more. Im a homebody, and dislike almost everything to do with otr trucking !! I have been almost around the country and its the same thing from awful truckstop food, flirty waitresses, long sleepless nights and its so hard to find clean showers !! .

He feels Im not being supportive or that I dont want to spend time with him when i choose not to go, and usually it results in days of not talking when he leaves. I have tried everything to get him to understand that I do love him and miss him but trucking is not for me.

I GO WITH MY HUBBY AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE WE HAVE BEEN TOGETHER 7YRS MARRIED FOR 5YRS. HE GOT HIS CDL'S RIGH AFTER WE GOT TOGETHER I HELPED HIM STUDY FOR HIS TEST. SUPPORT YOUR HUSBAND OR YOU WON'T HAVE ONE. WHEN HE ASK YOU TO RIDE ASK HIM TO MAKE IT A SHORT HAUL THE FIRST TIME SO YOU CAN GET USED TO IT. THE TRUCK STOPS ARE CLEAN AND VERY NICE FOR THE MOST OF THEM I HAVE SEEN NASTY ONES. AS FAR AS WOMEN HITTING ON THEM OH WELL CAUSE I CAN GET OUT OF MY HUBBY'S TRUCK AND GET HIT ON BY OTHER DRIVERS WALKING ACROSS THE PARKING LOT. WHO'S TO SAY THAT WON'T BE YOUR HUBBY HITTING ON WOMEN WHO ACTUALLY ENJOY HIS PASSION.

NO MARRIAGE IS PERFECT AND WHEN YOUR MAN IS DRIVING FOR 16 HOURS A DAY AND YOU BITCH AND COMPLAIN AT HIM, THAT MAKES HIM NOT WANT TO COME HOME AT ALL. MY HUSBAND CALLS ME AND TELLS ME THE CRAZY THINGS HE HEARS AND YOU WOULD BE SURPRISED AT WHAT TRUCKERS ACTUALLY DO BEHIND THIER WIVES BACKS.

LIKE I SAY TAKE A SHORT RIDE THE FIRST TIME AND JUST THE TWO OF YOU TOGEHTER IN A TRUCK WITH NOTHING BUT ONE ANOTHER AND CONVERSATION WILL ACTUALLY BRING YOU A LITTLE CLOSER.

1> flying j's petro's and yup even some of the pilots and most of the Ta's have the best showers and loves even have a sink counter thats bigger then the bathroom back home. so that excuse ids gone, restuarants, heck its deductable and thats for both of you as long as you do something while on the truck, like record keeping or map routing....or find something to do like read a book out loud for him so ya'all save money on the audio book rentals. so excuse 2 gone.

now what is it that you dont like. is it driving around town? well for truckers around town just might be about a 1500 mile radius. so get on a tee shirt and panties and jump in that truck, and do the 10 hr sleeper in some nice motel, and keep your guy or say good bye to him.

never cut the hand thyat feeds ya.

or get a job at the home neighborhood and have him get off the truck and keep home while you pay the bills.

At this point I have no desire to go with my DH. I don't think I ever would. Maybe you should find someone who is not involved in the life and can be very objective and help you get to the bottom of why you feel the way you do towards the truck stops, waitresses and so forth. Do you trust your husband?

If the showers are dirty then you are not going to the right truck stops. My daughter is a trucker and she said the showers where she stops are first rate and even have better towels than she carries on her truck. As for the food, the major truckstops have some of the best restaurants around. Tell your husband to talk to other truckers. They can get him to the best truck stops where you wil be happy. If you don't go with him I'm afraid you will lose your hubby. Been there done that.
