Engaged to a trucker, can I get tips to help me

I am newly engaged to a trucker and I love him with all my heart, it took him 3 years to get me. I am in this for the long haul. I can't talk to him for a week, his company has a driving safety guy riding with him this week.


I feel so sad, but I know it isn't his fault, dispatch did it. I hope he doesn't have any problems with home time and that no emergency load comes up. I miss him like crazy and we talk every night, because he wants to.

I am here for him and I support him. I just need help with this, it is all so new.

The comment about jumping in the seat with him! This! Do it! I went over the road w my husband for 2years & I loved every second of it. We were only dating for a couple months too! I can't wait to go back with him. But if you can't go or choose not to, remember he's driving so on days where he isn't answering fast enough, he's driving or tired. You will learn that things non trucker wives complain about will be laughable! And it'll be rough & stressful but worth it when you have a great husband.

Keep yourself busy, know he's thinking and missing you too. Take up a new hobby, take an free online class, get involved in community stuff. I'm not sure if you have a job or are a stay at home mom, but I find keeping busy helps. BTW it's great when they come home after being away for awhile, just like when you first started dating. It's hard being involved with a trucker sometimes but with the right man and the right attitude, it can be great and exciting too. Take care

Want my suggestion? To bad you asked;)

Don't have children right away pack your bags. Jump in the Queen's seat and enjoy the ride with him.

It's as much fun as it will make you cry sometimes, but both of your lives are about to change.
