I see comments from up to 3 years back. I would like to know what CR England has done to improve their turnover rate. In talking with recent trainees, I continue to hear the same comments. Are you interested in improving the turnover rate or are you satisfied that so many employees are unhappy?

Most drivers unhappy with England are those who got into trouble either as a driver or during training. They failed to follow instructions, were late on loads, and were general malcontents. I worked for CR and a lease owner and as a trainer. Didn't care for training because I didn't like sleeping while a trainee drove.
You'll find a lot of unhappy drivers hanging out in the terminals of any trucking company. They are the ones I mentioned above. They got into trouble, refuse to take responsibility for their actions and blame the company for their woes.
New drivers should stop talking to those sad sacks and talk with drivers who have been there for a while.
Your DM is NOT trying to mess you over - he makes bonuses when YOU go good and YOU are happy. If you treat your DM right he will treat you right. If you do extra things without complaining like delivering a trailer while waiting on a load, your DM will remember. When it comes time to assign loads good drivers get the best. That's just the way it works. My wife was a DM after we came off the road and that is how she treated her drivers.
The best way to make money in trucking is to be ON TIME EVERY TIME, stop hanging out in truck stops flirting with waitresses. They most likely aren't going to meet you at your truck when they get off work. Stop listening to all the OTR driver-lawyers hanging out at the terminal. None of them graduated from law school. They hanging out at the terminal usually because they are waiting for some disciplinary action. They are also usually dumber than a bag of hammers and about as reliable as a politician - and as believable.
DM's will get you home when operations allow for it. No trucking company can guarantee what day you will be home. If that is not right with you then stop driving and get a job at Walmart - it never goes anywhere and you are home every night. DM's are not in the habit of keeping you from going home. See above about keeping drivers happy. Will your DM always make you happy? Nope, but he will do his best. You do your best and trucking can be a rewarding job.

Slave Labor = New Trucks for CRE NEW
by: Anonymous

Wake up, wake up... Don't sign away 9 months of your life in exchange for a CDL. CRE will honor its CONTRACT and will make sure you get .25c per mile, the minimum, for 9 months.

Its a scam, and its metals because good people are totally unaware of the bad faith business practices at CRE.

How do you think they make all that money to buy all those new trucks? Why do you think they have a CDL university program going? It's not to help you get a CDL, its purpose is to suck you into a below market contract (.25c per mile) for 9 months.

Its cheaper and more profitable to train people to drive and to stick them into bad contracts, and to deal with all of the turnover and bad press, than it is to pay a decent wage, and to care for their drivers.

The question for all of you to ask CRE is "If I am going to commit to 9 months, what income will you guarantee during that time period?

In other words, don't ever rely on faith, rely on the contract. If it says the minimum miles are X, you are going to get X. Nothing more. Therefore, demand a rate per mile, and an amount of miles per week that is fair and if the recruiter or company refuses, then go talk to another trucking company.

Don't put yourself they the legal bs at CRE, they suck.

CR England Screws Drivers - Highest Turnover !!! NEW
by: Anonymous

Yes, CR England is the largest refrigerated trucking company in the U.S. with arguably the newest equipment. CR England also likes to state that it hires and trains the most drivers. The reason CR England hires and trains the most drivers is because the drivers they train don't stay. Why? Because CR England is a racket, an evil predator, in the business of ripping off newbies. By way of example, CR offers to pay the costs of your school in exchange for a 9 month driver contract. In other words, in exchange for the CDL they own you for 9 months, 11 hours a day, 65 hours a week for 9 months.

CR England is a total scam and ought to be burnt to the ground for misleading and taking advantage of people looking to improve themselves and provide for their families. Legally CR can do what they're doing but it's not right. CR guarantees you nothing. CR wants a 9 month contract and when drivers say I need to know how miles I'll get or how many drops I'll get, or asks for some assurance as to how much money they will make, CR states that the minimum pay will be .25c per mile (true). But, what they won't tell you you can't survive on .25c a mile. They let the drivers sign contracts believing CR is a good company not knowing they're signing up for slave labor. Folks, if you're going to sign a Contract, make sure you Demand a Minimum amount miles and a price per mile you can live on - before signing. If you sign up, they will own you for 9 months, paying you the contract minimum of .25c per mile. You will starve, then quit and meanwhile CR will be buying brand new big red trucks with all the money they make screwing the drivers that sign up for 9 months worth of work in exchange for a CDL.

CR England packs all of you into a crapy room with crapy food, runs the heard thru their CDL program, and then owns you. All the while, their students are truly eager to get their CDL and get to work. But, after they're on the road, and the ittybitty checks start coming in the drivers realize they've been screwed and can't live on the money. CR England then points to the legal terms in the contract. Did you sign up for class? Did you sign up for 9 months? Did you sign up for a minimum of .25c per mile? Etc.

Go to Swift, they want you after you get your acadami and won't try to own you of force you into a lease. Good luck my friends.

#1....C.R England was a joke from the beginning.Well lets start from the beginning.I started call in when I was about 2 hours away from them for a shuttle to pick me up which they didn't show..I was luck I had a friend who lived in town who picked me up took me to the store and to my room.Once there I find out I have been sent to the wrong place that I wasn't suppose to go to this shit hole till phase 1.My recruiter also said I would have WiFi so I could keep in touch with my 8 children and husband. But that wasn't true either you only get WiFi once you are hired on with their company.Whats that shit?Thee last I looked Almost offers FREE WiFi..Once they get you there you are pretty much on your own.My roommate had been put out by her trainer while she was just 3 days away from having her 30 days...She laughed at me when I was talking about going home at the end of my 17 days.My requiter told me C.R England wad a family company (bullshit)I just decide for how shitty things were already going I would just go home and find another company to go with.My recruiter call me Monday morning asking what was wrong why didn't I show up for school so I explained everything that was bothering me and told him I just wanted to go home..He said I at least had to go to the school so I could be put in the computer so he could get me my bus ticket..I went..did what I was told called him back to tell him I was in the computer.HIS BITCH ASS has not returned any of my 8 calls.

I am or have been a lease operator with England. I will admit at first it was tough. But I did my dues and got on a dedicated route that put me home on route and made being a leaser profitable. If you want to make 5,000 dollars clear a week you are in the wrong buisness. I was averaging 2300 - 2500 per week after expenses. You make it what it is. OTR is for some and for some it is overwhelming. If you have any problems start out as a company driver and hang out with the independents that are happy. Bottom line...if a criowd becomes unruly, everyone in that crowd becomes unruly...but if the crowd is peaceful then all are peaceful;. Many will condem England but many will praise it. Do not let negative talk destroy your dream.

Take it with a grain...and grin CR England
by: Ben There

All Reefer companies have a produce mentality,it is a throwback to the days of less dependable refrigeration, etc. You got the load there as fast as humanly possible and faster to diminish the chance of spoilage.I personally hauled a hell of a lot of produce and know. That said a 'green driver'ain't gonna be hauling strawberries, but you will haul frozen and controlled temp.loads.

Punctuality, and on time delivery is the key here!Refusing loads throws dispatch in a turmoil they are thinking two steps ahead[if they are on the ball]a refused load means you ain't going to be where you need to be to haul the following load!THIS IS THE PROGRAM IN THE REEFER WORLD!Many "green drivers"don't understand these concepts,Never,Never,Never sign a Lease Purchase Contract!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You want to be a company driver for years! Don't listen to what a 'bounty hunter' says.Stay a company driver and watch the leasers go broke.CR England is the largest Reefer outfit so a hell of a lot of people who didn't follow the above concepts are blogging and crying about them.

The truth is they are no worse than any reefer outfit and much better than most.
