Can a father take his young child on the road with him

Is it Illegal for my husband to take our two year old son in his semi with him around the united states?

I dont see anything wrong with it. my parents on the other hand seem to think that i am hurting my child by letting his dad take him on the diesel. My son absolutely loves it. I feel that as long as he is in his carseat that there is no problem.

My husband stops enough to stretch little mans legs and let him unwind he loves it.
