Boyfriend leaving OTR in a month any adivce ladies? :)

My man recently got offered a job that will pay his CDL training and he will leave OTR the day after Thanksgiving.

He and I have been together daily for 2 years and lived together for a year and a half, so I'm not so used to having him gone for weeks at a time.

I am extremely proud of him and am willing to push through the year it takes to get enough experience under his belt until he can become local.

I work full time and we are talking about saving up enough to where I can quit and go with him after he's allowed a passenger at 6 months.

Do any of you know if you have to be married to be able to go OTR with him? And if any of you fine ladies have done this what can you tell me about the experience? I love to travel and I think it'd be a great opportunity and quite the adjustment as well, but I would be happy with him anywhere.

We also don't have any children yet, so I'd love to take the opportunity while we can. We have a fantastic relationship and he is my best friend so I support him 100% on this but I know I will cry a lot as soon as it gets time to leave. He seems mutual in that regard.

Anything and everything you all can tell me would be wonderful. This website is a God-send and I can't wait to use this in the future :) Thanks!
