Ex-boss badmouthing
by: Jimmy

Hi Ellisa, The Crazy Trucker gave you excellent advice. I just wanted to add, previous employers are not allowed to badmouth ex employees according to a federal law. ( They could be sued ) However, They can say 'terminated' which is a little vague and they can also say with/or without notice and would they re/hire or not? If they will not re/hire, doesn't really say much about YOU now does it?.

Always leave on good terms. Don't burn that bridge. Jimmy

Getting your DAC report and DMV
by: The Crazy Trucker

Hello Ellisa,

Yes, they can put certain things on your DAC Report that would definitely keep you from getting hired. That's why it's so important to handle every job with responsibility, don't listen to these clowns (yeah, I meant it clowns) on the CB brag about how they left the company's truck (loaded or not) here or there (anywhere other than the company and not under a load that was supposed to be delivered) or how they otherwise called themselves getting back at the company, they are only hurting themselves.

A driver needs to think before doing things, right or wrong he or she does not have the leverage over the company to do what he feels. It's kind of like dealing with the police even if they are wrong and you are right, you can't just act a fool about it, well you can but will it won't help you and may very well make your situation worst immediately and in the long run. The same is true with drivers doing dumb stuff to get back at the company. They are black balling themselves that way.

You must remain level headed and making responsible decisions to handle the injustice. If its is a company policy that you don't agree with you give 2 weeks notice and find another job. If it is a single persons judgment you disagree with try to talk to a superior. (easier with smaller companies)

However, also be advised that for the DAC report especially, a company can put a lot of things on there without proof and it will be up to you to dispute and hopefully prove false. At least you can contest it and they have 30 days to respond.

Here is more information on DAC Reports and how to get a copy of your.
