Job NEW
by: Anonymous

Interesting comments. As a current employee it's interesting to read what looks like mostly former drivers comments. What most fail to mention as to raises is that drivers come in at top of range on pay. You are paid by the trip not by the hour. $60,000 to $75,000 is good pay for a local driving job. Is it work? Absolutely, if you are a steering wheel holder and lazy it's most likely not the job for you. It's a fresh food business we are in. Will there be delays? From time to time yes. Days off are split for most. Benefits are good. If you are looking for stable job with good pay and benefits you can't go wrong. If you are looking to get paid, but are not willing to work or have an attitude about it I would recommend going elsewhere. While certainly not a perfect job, tell me where there is one, it will provide you and your family a stable income.

SNL is the worst company to work for NEW
by: Anonymous

Be careful with this company. The drivers schedules are NEVER on time. If they ask you to become a supervisor within the short time that you've worked for them be very careful. They will give you the supervisor title, but not the responsibilities, they will give you non stop calls from drivers and the bakery. You will not have any kind of family life. They will also promise to give you comp time and then deny it. Know your laws, they will do it say what that have to to get the job done.

Let's review Snl ,been here 5 years they have never forced me to do anything, the pay is good would like to leave out daily at the same time but I manage if something is wrong with my truck I refuse to drive it and I get another truck pay is about 60 to 77 thousand a year ,stay away from parking lot politics and only be concerned about your load and the stress factor stays low u can make great money but. U have to get used to split days off and watch your speed if packout(separating bread) gets to hard go to linehaul and just drive

Don't do it. Trust me... NEW
by: Anonymous

This place is the bottom of the barrel. Nothing but empty promises to get you to take the load. Forget about a raise, this company thinks it's a small family owned company so they can justify not paying much, but in reality it has over 800 employees... Not a small company at all. Beware, SNL is a scam. Keep track of your money, they will short you on your check to keep upper management happy with the $1,300 weekly salary cap.

This is one of the worst jobs in the trucking industry, Brian and Carl are the 2 in charge and they are careless and will lie directly to ur face to get u in the truck and onto the bakery but will not tell u everything about the job. First off u have no route as they promise u when hiring and most drivers already there will tell u they get set routes after more than a year of beine there, u will then have subpar trucks and u will have to unload entire truck with 2 wheeler and load back up when done, this job does not have a pay scale they will pay what they THANK u are worth each week, this is a labor job posing as a driving job

Pros and cons NEW

I can tell you that I paid my house off because of the money I earned at SNL... About $75,000 a year for the last 10 years... That was just a goal I had to have something to show for the long hours...Your home everyday that is a plus... The hours are long and you will not have much of a personal life. You start off making good money so there is no raise. Very demanding schedule very demanding customer( Flowers Baking Company). You will have to constantly speak your mind with Management to get a route that best suits you... Watch your pay checks.. Overly complicated payroll entry leaves room for mistakes... I will say every mistake I caught was corrected...All in all they need Men to work for them.. You are independent all day long and again the money is good..

Worked in management. Drivers get points for every violation management can do anything they want. All drivers are looked at like they are worthless I can assure you all the way to the owner could not care about you. If your liked you will make money till you say you need a day off. Oh the run illegal a lot trucks are in bad shape trailers too. Bakery basically controls your hours and pretty much doesn't care if you have the hours to do your job.

This company has their favorites drivers they get the best loads and they work the extra day days off are Tuesday's and Saturdays they do make you do your reset 34 hours the company hasn't given drivers raises in over 5 years. The trucks are in not that good shape the maintenance that fixes the trucks sometimes over looks your driver report issues over all this job you work hard unloading trailer that are 53 @ 57 feet long expertly on hot summer days. Sweat you ass off. You will lost weight

SNL,it's a good company for some ,you can make money as long as you keep comments to yourself,if you enjoy being home daily averaging around 1,000 a week then by all means apply and hope for the best, just remember your off days are Monday and Friday or Tuesday and Saturday you cant take a vacation the same week a holiday is present and you will work for your money good insurance great people to work around but try to stay away from parking lot politics and you will be fine ,unloading trailers is just exercise ,I am a current SNL driver and I approve this company

Good company to work for but they don't give annual raises but you start out with about 58,000 per year and home daily.will work every weekend so brace yourself for that.

They could organize and have part time people to work weekends or at least give 2 days in a row off instead either Tuesday and Saturday off or Friday and Monday, so good luck

You are considered just a body at this company, regional managers have said that,I am a current employee at the Batesville terminal and the best advice I can give you is don"t talk to much, listen a lot , management will screw you ,they let go a driver over something senseless and didn"t even give him time to comply , as though they were right and he was wrong, read those contracts you sign before starting here ,I have seen many drivers come and go ,but the problem with Batesville is indeed management and you know who you are,be careful manager you will be escorted from snl one day the same way you termed that driver.

Just passed twice a snl driver in a red cab with a double trainer on l-81 in Virginia. Both times we passed him he was swerving on the road and looking at his cell phone. We did not get the truck number but he needs to get off the road.

Here's the truth,if you want a high paying job by all means SNL is the place, but, if you value family, weekends, holidays, you are coming to the wrong place. The problem is SNL lets Flowers call the shots,so it will never be organized,.Packout drivers have to wait all times of night to seperate bread for route drivers,it normally screws up there hometime but SNL has no backbone to stand up against Flowers Baking Company they dont care if we make it home on Christmas as long as the bread is at the depots, good insurance,no raises,Im not a bitter driver that has quit,"Im still with SNL but really consider your options b4 deciding

They will rob you NEW

I was hired here recently. I'll cut to the Chase! they will take out at least $200 or more from your check if you don't stay. They have a high turn over rate. You are not trained properly. They will throw your ass you under the bus. Their payroll checks do not detail what you made.. It just says salary and lump pay..they dont tell you the truth about what youre supposed to do, no one will ever stay if they were honest about everything .. I could go on and on and on about this place but they will not change until they get sued.

Terrible NEW
by: Anonymous

I have just recently left this company here in San Antonio. This place is terrible!! Management will lie to you and screw you around. Loads constantly change by management giving you low pay routes at will if you are not a brown noser. Pay can be decent although, it will not be consistent. You are told that you will make 800-1000 wkly. I only seen about 650 a week for the work done. Not worth it here.

Management is the Problem NEW
by: Anonymous

Supervisors are the problem, they make everything out to be a secret then terminate you good thing is they have a review committee that helps because you have supervisors/dispatch you thought were friendly actually wolves in sheep clothing best thing to do is keep to yourself don"t discuss your run ,pay or anything with so called friends because they twist the knife in your back too,the pay is decent you might lose a part of your social life, hauling bread sounds easy but the schedule is a joke sometimes so watch closely and pay attention and you can make money , good insurance,no raises and I really believe they can here you inside the truck if you"re on the phone
