Unemployment and Truck Drivers

Since unemployment is at an all time high, why is there such a need for truck drivers?

Why would one want to become a truck driver?

I'm writing an ebook, and would love as many and varied answers as possible to these two questions. If I use your answer, I will send you a free copy of the ebook when I am finished.

Send your replys to coffeyconslt@live.com. Please be serious and enlighten a novice trucker. We will not share your information with anyone EVER!

Thanks,

Howard

Questions about employment in trucking.
by: Jimmy

Why would anyone want to become a brain surgeon? Why would anyone want to eat raw oysters? Why would anyone want to climb Mt. Everest? Why would anyone want to buy a Ford? Answer: Different strokes for different folks.

Yes, unemployment is high. In a perfect world, the balance between amount of available freight and available trucks would be even. I can tell you, right now, in 2009, trucking companies are being very picky on who they hire. A lot of people are thinking they will get into trucking and live happily ever after. Maybe yes, maybe no.

As we stumble through life, we make decisions and hope for the best.....Jimmy
