I had a shipper ask for a copy of my cdl and finger print and cell phones number.

Shippers can make sure you are who you say that you are. Some trailers have been stolen by someone people posing as drivers coming to legitimately pick up a load.

There probably was a sign stating the policy of the shipper and/or picking up from the shipper.

You must be picking up some high dollar freight or sensitive material or both.

I've been asked for Copy of CDL and Cell but not finger yet.

Your an american citizen, any AND ALL illegal aliens have the right to show No proof of anything.
