Laughlin River Run 2009

by Jimmy
(Kingman,Az USA)

Well folks, I'm going to change the subject this time around. I know, this is a website about trucking but I know a lot of truckers who ride bikes or are interested in bikes. I'm talkin' motorcycles, just to be clear, not bicycles.

The Laughlin River Run starts this next week, April 22nd, 2009 and runs through Sunday, April 26th, 2009. Laughlin is second only to Sturgis Rally in South Dakota in August. If you're a biker fan/rider, you already know what I going to tell everyone.

Last years river run attracted about 75000 bikers to Laughlin, Nv. Laughlin is on the Colorado River 90 miles south of Las Vegas, Nv. There are 9 Vegas size hotel/casinos and an itty bitty, teensey weensey, really small little casino plus an Indian casino south of town about 6 miles. Bullhead City, Az is across the river from Laughlin. Needles Ca is about 25 miles south of Laughlin. If your traveling through Vegas, from I-40 and Kingman,AZ, you have to go through Laughlin.

Truck parking is available at the north end of the casinos, between the Riverside hotel and the bridge, on both sides of the river. On the Az side, right next to the river, on the Nv side, park on the west side of Casino Dr. (both areas are dirt lots).

There will be tons of vendors with anything pertaining to motorcycles for sale. Entertainment also as well as test rides. Ski-doos are available to rent, plus your gambling/boozing/buffet eats etc. Hey, it's Nevada, 24 hour excitement. If you're layed over in Vegas, you're close enough. Or running I-40 with lots of time, you're also close enough. Oh yeah, almost forgot, most top bike builders are there also. Google "Laughlin River run 2009" for more info. Jimmy
