Is the ride smooth or rough???

I've been tossing the idea of driving again.

It was 2000 when I came off the road and got a regular job.

Three years ago I injured my lower back, herniated disk L4-L5, doctor says it's better but I still have occasional pain.

I'm wondering how do the trucks ride these days with all the technical advances?

Which 2 truck manufacture has the best ride?

If anyone suffers from the same injury please share your thoughts or advice.
