is it legal to operate a bob-tail truck with type two diabetes?

I have recently been diagnosed with type two diabetes, and am taking oral and insulin to control it. I have been let go of my truck driving career of 12 years. I want to drive again, can I drive a Bobtail, no log book?

I have diabetes also and Hervy is right you can be exempt now. I chose to retire after 27 years OTR. But that is my personal decision. Go for it if your diabetes is under control.

Not if you have to take injection insulin...Bobtail still requires a medical card and you can have diabetes if it is controlled by diet and/or oral medication.

Good luck to you

IF you meet the criteria and are deemed safe to drive with diabetes you can become an over the road driver with diabetes. You will have to check with your state regulations to find out if you can drive commercially with Diabetes.

I have created a page with the more diabetes information including the link to the diabetes exempt download

can drive a truck with diabetes
