I have a few misdemeanors can I still drive?

I have an underage possession of a malt beverage (about 3 or 4 years ago, no DUI or DWI

Shoplifting about 2 or 3 years back. I paid to have it expunged from my record but it will still show up on government (FBI) background checks my lawyer said, also it wasn't anything too serious or expensive just a play station controller, I even payed walmart back and everything.

Most recently last summer (summer 2012) i caught a misdemeanor pot charge (1.5 grams worth).

For the weed I got a deferred prosecution and put on unsupervised probation until early April of this year. My lawyer said if I get no other charges before I'm off probation (don't plan on it) then the pot charge will be "dismissed", but will still show up on my record. I don't smoke weed, drink, or participate in any sort of crimes any more.

The drinking charge i just pled guilty and payed the $100 fine it wasn't worth hiring a lawyer.

The main one I'm worried about is the pot charge, however, if the driving school I'm considering attending requires a drug test at orientation and then several randoms, and so does every trucking company, wouldn't that be proof I haven't smoked in ages?

Especially companies who do hair follicle tests they can catch weed in your system months back.

I live near Charlotte, NC and am considering attending the CDL course at Johnston Community College in Smithfield, NC.

Any insight would be great, I would hate to blow money on the school and then not be able to find a job.

Well 4 years ago I went to Prison For poss. of A control Sub. 3rd class felony and I am Driving if you want to get a hold of me leave me some way to get a hold of you

I already work at Burger King and Tax payers money? No, I've been saving since I graduated high school (4 years) and have around 3k to spend on school. I have never qualified for financial aid of any kind. I just haven't decided the best place to spend it yet.

To the second comment, that's what I figured but I don't even have my permit yet and the class wouldn't start until early May, and how would I know which companies to start with?

Any suggestions? Pot is all I've done, I've never done coke or anything else.

here is how i see it any charges under 18 they wont see, any thing expunged they also wont see.

the pot thing will be seen, here is how a recruiter said it to me. marijane they are not as concerned because it stays in a persons system for long periods of time. where as cocaine is different short time unless hair test is used.

pot they will catch cocaine is tougher. i had a cocaine charge. was damn near impossible for me to get a job although i did find one.

i would call and talk to a recruiter or actually alot of them see what he/they say BEFORE ever paying to get your CDL.

dont have to give them your name doesnt hurt to call and ask
