Hiring a convicted felon

I have a smuggling charge from 2002. I will be eligible for pardon in 1 and half years.I have been gainfully employed since 2003 and have been driving a Taxi for past 5 years.

Licensing Commission gave me a break getting a Taxi license regardless of my criminal record. I have recently obtained Truck License. i am wondering if truck company such as Bison will hire me with that record?
