Get Paid To Exercise
One of the main advantages of being a trucker for me is that I can get paid to exercise. Unloading furniture is great exercise. There are many truck driving jobs that require loading and unload other than furniture. I think dollar general accounts with Werner and other accounts with JB Hunt allow you to load and unload to name a few. Just ask questions to the trucking company you talk to about a job to see how much loading and unload you will do. Note: You might want to let them know that you actually want to load and unload if that is the case. Most drivers don't want to touch freight. The recruiter will likely think that's why your asking and tell you that there is such and such percentage of no touch freight. Usually a high percentage. If this is the case, ask them will they pay you if you load and unload yourself. However, make sure that they will pay you reasonably because a some companies (stupid management) will pay a lumper more than they will pay the driver for loading and unloading. But you can also squeeze exercise out of other activities or just do actual exercises while your waiting. You'll be doing a lot of waiting. Just do a push ups and laps around the parking lot to occupy your time if you can't load or unload.
