Drop and Hook Video

Above you will see me drop and hook. I drop my empty trailer in the yard to hook up to a preloaded trailer to deliver in Texas. Drop and hook situations obviously saves the driver time. Some trucking companies establish this type of relationship with other companies they do frequent business with.

Other companies drop and hook to their own distribution points or terminals in that region so that local drivers can pick them up and make the local deliveries.

For me, we have a good balance. We alway drop and hook at the yard to go out on deliveries. However, most deliveries are not drop and hook. We unload the furniture ourselves anywhere from 3 to 30 stops.
