Do i need a DOT medical card?

So i drive a 26000 lb. GVWR flatbed (don't need a CDL for this truck) for work and most of the jobs are local in California.

I was just curious if anyone has had to show a DOT medical card while driving locally? Or only for out of state driving?

Thanks for the reply. I've tried calling both DMV and the commercial department for DMV and neither could give a definite answer. LOL The truck is commercial with a DOT # on it.

Guess i'll just keep bothering the company to send me to get a medical card, Id rather have it and not need it.

Its my understanding that you must have a medical card if you have a cdl and operate a cmv. The laws are different in every state so don't take my word for it but i'm pretty sure your ok.

May want to call your local dmv and ask, it would be cheaper then catching the ticket ya know, good luck.
