Different states have different policies on this. it is required however, to tell the examining physician during your physical what prescriptions your on. Being that methadone causes drowsiness , it would be difficult to get a practitioner to sign off on your examination. Also, most companies require the prescribIng doctor to sign off that it's ok for you to drive a motor vehicle while on methadone.

Check with a DOT physical place and ask them. There are some medications that are allowed. I don't know all that are and aren't. You may have a problem getting hired by a company and having to explain why methadone. Good luck. Jimmy
