non working a/c NEW

There is no mention of air conditioning in the FMCSA handbook. I've gone through a Texas roadside dot inspection in the heat of the summer when my a/c was broke down, and the officer said he felt for me, but it won't put you out of service.

I would refuse to drive it. They can get it fixed or put you in a truck with an AC that works. Or you could work for a different company, one that has trucks with working air conditioners. Plenty of them out there looking to hire more drivers.
