would driver get held up at weight station for not having health insurance?

i was informed by dispatch on the day of deliveryfor a shipment that's suppose to be deliver to me, he told me the driver was held at the weight station because he didnt renew his medi-cal insurance.


What does Health Insurnace have to do with weight station? are they lying?

You may have mis-understood, not sure, he may have said medical card, which a driver has to keep current. They expire every 2 years.If it expires, a CDL is not valid until it's renewed. Depending on the police agency, he could get put out of service on the spot or cited and released.
But not for not renewing his health insurance. Jimmy
