Which trucking companies don't do hair analysis test

I would like to rephrase my question. What trucking companies use the urine test opposed to the hair analysis test? As I am aware they all drug tests.

Just so you're all aware, the only form of drug testing that is approved by DOT right now, 2021, is urine testing. That said, private companies can do whatever testing for pre-employment they want. After you receive employment, the employer can only use approved DOT drug testing methods. There are a large number of positive test results from hair tests compared to urine tests and the reason for that has not been verified yet. It's assumed that the reason is that the hair test is more accurate but until that is proved, urine testing remains the only approved method of drug testing for DOT employees.

From what I read in my experiences if you’re going to apply with a company that does a hair follicle test it takes 90 days for the substance not to be in your hair follicles anymore so my suggestion is after 90 days cut your hair also take into account that your hair grows at a certain rate so you have the required one and a half inch for testing will take you about 3 to 6 monthsSo you’re looking at a six month for a year process

I have very long dreads and hate to mess up my chances if i get a positive on the test. A Hair follicle test alone doesn't qualify/satisfy the FMSCA
testing mandates(Yet.) The HF is a separate private pre-employment test. They will perform both HF and regulated DOT UA.

If you fail the pre-employment Hair Follicle test(assuming you passed the DOT regulated Urinalysis test), they cannot report you to FMCSA/Clearinghouse, However they may report it on your DAC file.

If you shave your head and body, they can still take a sample from your eyebrows or more likely they will take fingernail/toenail shavings(finger/toenails go back more like a year or more), also chemical/bleaching doesn't work so keep that in mind if your trying to defeat the test.

HF testing isn't 100% infallible, namely sampling procedures if not performed correctly has in some cases been know to mark legitimate 100% clean test subjects with a false positive. Make sure you wash your hair and get to the testing facility asap(they should wash it for you at the testing facility.) Also, make sure to ask or best to witness the lab technician wash/sterilize the hair scissors. Taking samples from other subjects that are positive with unclean scissors could contaminate your hair sample. Washing your hair makes sure other contaminants from the air, E.G. being in a room where someone else smokes MJ or handling money/cash then running your fingers thru your hair, could contaminate your sample.

Also, if you don't like it, remember, power to the people, petition your local senators/reps/FMCSA to keep HF testing from becoming the standard mandate in FMCSA/transportation industry.

The simple fact is this I have driven for almost 5 years have been around it my whole life. My father is an owner operator my mother an rn. Both straight edged good christian people I only smoked marijuana for a short stent in my teens. I am straight edged but ferl off the wagon and spent two years as an alcoholic the entire time praying that i could go back to being an intelligent pothead teenager. After leaving my home family and everything i had ever known. I made use of my two degrees to survive and rid myself of alcoholism i returned. Obtained CDLS a ptdi have specialized drove in all 48 states no accidents or citations ever still spending the majority of my time on the road happily to be able to support my family home and friends. I am from a tiny town with an unemployment rate of 65% with more jobs leaving every day trucking and nursing. With have a record proportional homless rate publish in a state paper we were ranked by the CDC as the third highest drug consuming county in the us with 82 % of our 65000 approx population being daily users of multiple drugs. I personally know 3 good drivers who have lost there license because when 90 of everyome you are ever around smokes weed for sure you cannot ever come home and pass a drug test after. I am one of the only three people a have ever know throughout my life who wasnt an addict and user and what good did it do me to come home and go trucking if i can never come home or be around those i love now. These people arr not monsters they are pitiful and only love can save them our society needs god and a heart a should have a natural affinity toward responsibility towards man not to mention our fellow americans. Fuck you fmcsa im a driver and im good at it but im no slave and my once beautiful own has as much right at prosperity and the american dream as any other.

I was prescribed a medicine to try for a month by my doctor. I took the full 30 day supply. It made me feel sick so I stopped. Well I know it will pop up in a hair test. I know I could show a letter from my doctor to prove I was prescribe it. I dont want to go through that hassle because it will set me back more time. What companies?

I experienced a preemployment drug screen; both UA and hair. I did a study on the process or procedure. The proper procedure is to pull out a hair and root. I applied for Schneider...they had a clinic cut a bundle of hair off my arm, just after I took a UA. I was told via letter, I violated Company policy, by using Meth and was fired. That was all the letter said. Nearly a month later, I received yet another letter from Schneider, a Drug rehab requirement; for Violating Company Policy. I never touch drugs in my life. I am a 10 year Veteran. Then, I learned you don't have to use (shoot-up), snort or smoke meth...it could be a vapor of what another individual used. The vapor contacts your skin and hair...your infected. Schneider, tells every one, their hair drug screen stays in house...LIES! They report everything to FDOT.

Covenant Transport does not pull hair for job just pee test that they are strict.

With 3 more terms forgot location...... The pay is very low $100 for orientation.. $450 salary for 180hrs OTR training.. Once you upgrade pay is $700-800 a week depending on if you have hazmat or not.. Get own hotel if you can they have serious bed bugs !!

we know you aren't smart enough to figure this out since you commented already...

but if you still think Marijuana affects people the same as alcohol, cocaine, meth, speed whatever-else...
then you don't know anything about it... maybe you've done some reading... but from personal experience i know which is stronger.
I don't drink... cuz i don't like being drunk... I don't like being drunk because everything becomes harder when you are drunk...even though sometimes i admit it was more enjoyable...
I like to get stoned (smoke weed).
I am able to do everything just the same... a few things better... some things slower... plenty of things slower... It leaves me in a conscious state... where i am also conscious OF my state (of mind)...
Alcohol leaves people feeling falsely confident, quick to act (unlike the cautious or paranoid stoner).
The only ones who can read this and get the meaning out of it are those with experience, or those who treat their lack of experience appropriately...
I'm not saying drinkers shouldn't be allowed to drive for a living.... But i am definitely saying they should be disallowed before weed smokers...
Plenty of them driving directly after drinks...

Here's an idea. Field Sobriety tests before every single drive all the time forever... Just a little more time off my hands. But someone stoned off their ass will pass those almost all of the time... less they've gone over board....
most drunks think they can pass.. but can't... so you can weed them right out. and be sure that every driver is CURRENTLY sober.. which is what really matters...
btw.... since my time in the army, I switched back to marijuana instead of anxiety meds (like zannies turning people into zombies...) and i don't take harmful chronic pain meds either... just weed for both.. with no side effects but laughter, hunger, and disturbingly deep thoughts sometimes... O.o

To the person that questioned why they test harder for herb than alcohol and coke, heres the true reason. Alcohol- the 2nd highest unimportant product/substance that america purchase on a regular, also 4nd in sales(retail or drafted). Knowing that its level in sales (as well as death toll, and arrest) theyre not carrying to press the issue on alcohol. As far as coke, meth, and all others drugs, other than marijuana, 95% of all pain killers(prescription and over the counter) contain 1 or more of these deadly narcotics. Marijuana is not deadly, doesnt cause a person to start controversy, and makes the average person so paranoid that they will stop at a stop sign waiting for it to turn green. Herb is not a bad drug, but knowing how many industrial businesses it would kill for the multiple uses of hemp, those higher ups cant afford that to happen. And also most companies know an edged driver is more efficient to losing their job and being replaced by a newbie(at a low ass pay rate), than a relaxed driver whose paranoia allows them to be able to be over cautious in driving, less wrecks, less reasons to fire a driver, less money out of their pockets, more drivers at a high pay rate.

STATISTICS HAVE SHOWN THAT THE MAJORITY OF TRAFFIC ACCIDENTS ARE CAUSED BY SOMEONE THAT IS INTOXICATED OFF OF ALCOHOL, BUT YET THE POWERS THAT BE SEEM TO DEEM MARIJUANA USAGE MORE DANGEROUS THAN SOMEONE GETTING PLASTERED THE NIGHT BEFORE OFF OF ALCOHOL, OR SNORTING COCAINE THE DAY OF OR THE DAY BEFORE THE GO TO WORK, WHICH IS SO ONE SIDED AN HYPOCRITICAL!IF YOU ARE GOING TO TARGET ONE YOU SHOULD TARGET THEM ALL!! ALCOHOL, WHICH IS THE LEADING CAUSE OF ALL ACCIDENTS, COCAINE AND MARIJUANA USAGE SHOULD BE TARGETED EVENLY. THESE COMPANIES HAVE FOUND ANOTHER LOOPHOLE FOR TESTING PEOPLE FOR MARIJUANA USAGE, BY NOW TESTING HAIR FOLLICLES, SO WHY CANT THEY USE THOSE SAME METHODS AND RESOURCES TO DETECT ALCOHOL AND COCAINE USAGE?

I agree with the above comment. Its not a law now but will soon be if there are more drivers out there who are trying to hide things. They are the ones that ruin it for the rest of us. Why can't people just follow the rules? You cant work anywhere not even a fast food restaurant and have a dirty drug test. And you are putting so many lives at risk if your behind the wheel of a big truck. This question is so inappropriate on so many levels.
